About Whatplay

Whatplay is a media player for Android, Android TV and Fire TV. It is developed by Veltrix Studios, the trade name of Iván Lozano Herrero, an independent developer based in Spain who makes mobile apps and games (veltrixstudios.net).

What we do

We want watching your videos to be simple: a player that opens almost any format, keeps your lists tidy, brings their TV guide and sends what you’re watching to your TV without fuss. Whatplay 2.0, released in November 2026, was rebuilt from scratch with a new player, casting to your TV with Chromecast, WebCast and Whatplay TV Link, sync with your Google Drive and parental control with a PIN.

Besides the app, we write guides about formats, streaming and video at home, and we keep a help center with answers to the most common questions.

Legal use of content

Whatplay comes empty: it doesn’t include, sell or link to any channels, movies or lists, and we don’t recommend providers. It is a player for your own videos and for content you have the right to watch. If someone offers you “a Whatplay list”, it isn’t ours (learn more).

If you are a rights holder and see someone using the Whatplay name to offer content without authorization, write to us and we’ll look into it.

Your privacy

You don’t need an account to use Whatplay, we don’t see what you play and we don’t sell your data. We explain it in detail in our privacy policy.
