What is ServerCast and how does it work?
ServerCast is a powerful tool that turns your mobile device into a local web server, allowing you to stream video and audio files to other devices on your WiFi network.
How does it work?
When you activate ServerCast, WhatPlay creates a web server on your device and provides you with a local IP address (for example: 192.168.1.100:8080). Any device connected to the same WiFi network can access this address from their web browser to view and play the content you're sharing.
Requirements
- All devices must be connected to the same WiFi network
- The device running ServerCast must remain active during streaming
- A stable WiFi connection is recommended for better quality
Steps to use ServerCast
- Open WhatPlay and select the file or video you want to share
- Activate the ServerCast option from the menu
- WhatPlay will show you an IP address (example:
http://192.168.1.100:8080) - On another device (PC, tablet, Smart TV), open a web browser
- Enter the provided IP address
- Enjoy the content on the big screen!
Note: This feature is ideal for sharing personal videos, presentations, or any multimedia content without needing cables or additional devices like Chromecast.
