What is CasTV and how to use it?
CasTV is an exclusive WhatPlay feature that lets you send content from your phone directly to the WhatPlay app installed on your Android TV or compatible device, all wirelessly and without needing Chromecast.
How does it work?
CasTV establishes a direct connection between your phone and your Android TV using a QR code. Once paired, you can send videos, playlists, and multimedia content with a single tap.
Requirements
- WhatPlay installed on both your Android phone and your Android TV
- Both devices connected to the same WiFi network
- Functional phone camera to scan the QR code
Initial setup
- Open WhatPlay on your Android TV
- Go to the CasTV or Settings section
- A QR code will be displayed on the TV screen
- On your phone, open WhatPlay and select the CasTV option
- Scan the QR code shown on your TV
- Done! The devices will be paired
Sending content
Once paired, simply select any video or content on your phone and tap the CasTV button. The content will automatically start playing on your Android TV.
Advantage: Unlike Chromecast, CasTV works entirely on your local network, without relying on external services, ensuring greater privacy and speed.
